Courtesy Pay Program If you find yourself in the Credit Dog House, you may want to consider what got you there in the first place. We encourage you to do a self assessment of your past financial habits and practices relating to how you manage your money. One area you may wish to examine is Courtesy Pay. As you may know, when you choose to utilize Courtesy Pay, we will cover items for payment for which there are insufficient funds. We pay it up to your Courtesy Pay limit, including the overdraft charge, so you have no additional returned check charges from retailers. There is no effect on your credit rating if you clear up the overdraft in a timely manner – we encourage you to clear up the overdraft within the required seven days. It is when your account is not brought current that your Courtesy Pay privileges will be suspended or revoked and your credit rating can be negatively affected. So, please exercise discretion and good judgment when utilizing this program. Courtesy Pay is intended to provide our members with a solution when they make an honest mistake in their checkbook, have unplanned expenses or run short before payday. It is advisable to remember however, that repeated overdraft charges can affect your financial situation negatively and, therefore, your credit. If you have any questions about Courtesy Pay, please contact us at 800.488.8328, Ext. 401. We may be able to assist you with your financial planning and help you protect your credit status.
